Barry Lyndon

Crew, cast and families – who has memories of Ireland, the candle light, and it all  – to share? I went to see the film last week and enjoyed it more than when it first came out. It was a brave move of Kubrick: to do a romp in slow motion; a drama keeping the actors at a distance, a period piece with exterior shots captured in natural light. The music brought it all together. It was a tough experience at the time, but now seems fantastical.

I was tempted to call out in the cinema – did anyone work on it? But didn’t find the courage. Does anyone remember?
