Fantastic – a standing ovation at the Marlowe in Canterbury. Amazingly, the style of it had resonances for the play I’ve just written: The Magic of Mathematics based on the life of Ada Lovelace. The play is now going into rehearsals and production. And seeing Shawshank – the pace of the scenes and the cut to black and use of music to keep the atmosphere – made me realise the conversion of my WW1 screenplay Spooks, to a stage play was very, very possible. Interesting times.
